Rare Canon F - 1, MOTOR DRIVE MF, Canon FD 50mm F1. 4 Lens, & Boxed Interval Timer

Today you are bidding on a rare classic combo of Original Canon F-1 35mm film SLR photographic products. The included items are listed below:
(1) Original Canon F-1 body (S.N. 310699, made in Japan) with OEM body cap. A Canon screw-on eyecup are included. It requires V625 button cell for meter function. A rare Varta 1.35 V625 mercury cell (1.35V) in original factory pack is included. The bottom plate is also included.
(2) Canon Motor Drive MF (S.N. 42071, made in Japan)....>(3) Canon Battery Grip (S.N. T1210, made in Japan). It requires 10 AA cells (not included).
(4) Very rare Canon Interval Timer L in factory cardboard box with Instructions.
(5) Canon FD 50mm F1.4 lens (S.N. 5584836, made in Japan) with OEM front and rear lens' caps. An OEM 52 mm Skylight 1A filter is included.
(5) Canon Interchangeable Lenses - Canon FD brochure (57 pages).
(6) Photo copy of Canon Motor Drive MF Instructions in English and Japanese (31 pages).
Cosmetically, the original Canon F-1 body is in Excellent condition with some rubbing, brassing and scratching marks on top plate including the prism finder. The leatherette covers are intact without missing pieces or peeling. The bottom plate is in very clean shape. The meter battery compartment is clean without corrosion. The Motor Drive MF and Battery Grip look in very clean condition. The MF bottom plate has couple dents and some rubbing marks/scratches. The Battery Grip shows slight brassing and tiny scratches at the bottom plate. The FD 50/1.4 lens with filter and caps are also quite clean as well with some scratches on the lens barrel.
Mechanically, I spent some time yesterday to check and test both Canon F-1 body, Motor Drive MF/Battery Grip and all included items, I am happy to report that they are in excellent working condition as designed except the film counter of the F1 body does not move. If you are a perfectionist, you may want to sent it in for service. However, the film counter on the Motor Drive MF works as expected. The motor speed mode wheel and film counter adjustment wheel turn smoothly. The Motor Drive MF attaches to the F-1 body without difficulty and the Battery Grip attaches to Motor Drive MF with ease. It's necessary to mention that the operation of Motor Drive MF and Battery Grip depends on a perfect motor gear of the F1 body. The focusing ring of 50/1.4 lens turns smoothly and the aperture ring clicks at every stop. The open and close of diaphragm blades are snappy and the openings look correct though no bench tests were performed to confirm their accuracy. The checking of aperture action of Canon FD lenses is different from most of name brand cameras. One has to open the film back to watch the aperture opening while activating the shutter. There is no damage to the filter attachment ring.
Electrically or electronically, the F-1 body, Motor Drive MF and Battery Grip work excellently The meter inside the view finder works but no bench tests were done to confirm their accuracy. To check the meter function, be sure to turn the switch on at the rear panel of the top plate. The included very rare Canon Interval Timer had been tested and all worked as expected. The timer has 9 increments from 0.5 second to 180 seconds. The sync port of flash works. The battery power check button and light work as designed (Image #7). From my experience, the battery contacts inside the F1 meter battery compartment and Battery Grip battery compartment/lid are subject to oxidation (or corrosion) during long period of storage. These thin oxidation film on the contact terminals are hard to see and the only way to ensure the perfect power linkage between the battery and terminal is to use a long handle cotton swab with household vinegar or dilute acid liquid to wipe them clean. Some times, the AA battery terminals have to be wiped clean as well. I will include a few long handle cotton swabs in the package.
Optically, the screen, viewfinder window, and the return mirror of F-1 body are clean. I detected a few tiny dust particles after viewing through the view finder window. After shining a strong LED flash light at various angles toward the front and rear sides of lens, I did not see wiping marks, scratches, haze, fungi, large debris or balsam separation. The filter lens is also clean.
Though almost every components of this combo are checked to be in excellent running condition, no bench tests or film test to confirm the accuracies.
The package will be sent to domestic buyer via USPS Priority Large Flat Rate Box with delivery confirmation for $25.00. The invoice may include the state retail tax depending on where you reside. For international buyer, it will be handled by Global Shipping Program which had been proven to be cost effective and fast. You will receive an invoice directly from the manager of Global shipping Program at the end of auction. The invoice may include the custom duty of individual country.
