Very rare & truly vintage 1979 Thonet 'Sof-Tek' child's chair by David Rowland, the renowned American industrial/furniture designer whose many designs are in everyday use and also collected/displayed by/in museums worldwide.
Tubular chrome-plated steel frame with the innovative bright red acrylic-like coated gridded 'S' sheet for seat and back. The coated S-frame provides sitting comfort, adjusting to sitter's motion. Chair retains the manufacturer's la...bel. The chair stacks on like chairs for convenience.
Chrome frame is in good to excellent condition for its age showing some oxidation at the welds; seat and back are good to excellent as well. Chair legs have original feet caps that prevent scuffing floors when moved about. Chair materials/components are impervious to liquids and being damaged by soiling; may be easily cleaned, hosed, etc.
