THE SUN CITY GIRLS Midnight Cowboys From Ipanema RARE CD 1996 Alan Bishop
Item History & Price
DESCRIPTION & DETAILS
1996 CD release of the 1986 album (originally released by Breakfast Without Meat zine on cassette) by The Sun City Girls. This is when they were young, the music is insane and hilarious and for me channels the feeling of wanting something less conventional (or at least predictable) than a lot of punk I was hearing. I guess drugs and a high sugar intake helped me relate to this music too. Anyway, for me this has more of a "freaks behind the 7-11" feel than the a...lbums that followed, but it's the opposite of not entertaining. Includes alot of twisted covers, including ones of Rush, Merle Haggard, The Stampeders, Maria Muldaur, The O'Jays (yes, that's right, and there's also Tell Me Something Good by Rufus and Chaka Khan), Billy Paul (Me and Mrs Jones..!), Golden Earing, The Eagles (Desperado!) and more. Oh, and interesting side note: Gregg Turkington / now Neil Hamburger and a part of On Cinema (who was behind Breakfast Without Meat) had something to do with this, he might be on it too (he compiled the album and did the cover art). Song list below.

Disc has only a very light small mark and is in very good condition. Front art (one page, as it was released) has a little wear (see scan, I'd enlarge it and have a good look if this is important to you). Back art is fine. Not a promo.
SHIPPING
In the US: $3.50 for the first CD, .50 each additional. This is for media mail. $4.25 first, .50 each additional for first class. Just let me know if you'd like another sort of shipping, I won't overcharge.
In the UK and other places faraway from Minnesota: $14.50 for the first CD, $1.50 each extra.
For a priority flat rate box, I'll just charge the exact price. If you buy a bunch it defniitely becomes the cheapest option.
