Presented for your consideration this set six of antique mother of pearl handled dinner knives They feature mother of pearl handles, fancy sterling silver collars with a garland motif and silver plated blunt end blades. They were made in Meriden, Connecticut by the Meriden Cutlery Co. Marked M C Co and the number 12 as shown as well as STERLING on the collars. The Meriden Cutlery Co. was in business from 1855-1860's. The firm made mostly knives. They... became a subsidiary of Landers, Frary & Clark in 1866. The knives measure 9-1/8" long. Very good antique condition considering the age. Expect some stubborn tarnish on both the collars and the blades as well as scratches and spots consistent with age and handling. There is some plate wear on the bolsters between the collars and the blades, see closeups. Please take a look at the photos as they describe the set best.
