Ultra rare massive stylus from a cheek tooth of the odd extinct mammal DESMOSTYLUS HESPERUS (Marsh 1888), from the middle Miocene of California.This specimen was collected at Shark Tooth Hill, near Bakersfield, Kern County, California, and represents a REAL Desmostylus. Most teeth on the market are actually from a different site and belong to the genus Paleoparadoxia.Their cheek teeth are made up of several cylindrical structures each.
