Offered for sale is this wonderful example of a "Kiddy Cyclist" tin litho wind-up toy, made by Unique Art Manufacturing Company c.1930's. The piece measures about 8 3/4" tall and is in excellent condition: the colors and the detail are still strong, and there is no damage to the tinplate other than some wear here and there. It retains 98% of its original lithographed finish, and the mechanism is strong and works just as it should: wind him up, move the switch to the 's...tart' position, and as the bell chimes the little boy cycles first this way then that way, then makes a 180° turn to head in the opposite direction. As noted, it does show play wear in spots (most notable on the little boys torso where it meets with the handlebars), but it's nonetheless hard to find this piece is this condition at this price, so don't pass it up.
