Navajo Southwest Rare Double Saddle Blanket Hand Woven Twill Design Size 29x58
Item History & Price
The deep orange, black, and white colors are gorgeous and hard to show in the photos. The color intensity slightly varies from one end of the rug to the other. It is hard to show in the photos but does not detract from its beauty.
Another unique feature is that the front and back are slightly different. One emphasizes the orange while the oth...er emphasizes the black. The side that emphasizes the black is prettier, in my opinion. It's more consistent and sharper. This difference is shown in the photos. It's a very pretty and unusual piece of art. I took photos of both sides and also close-ups.
I am selling this and other rugs for a long-time collector. He is not trying to make a profit from these. He is a wonderful older gentleman who wants his treasured collection to be loved by someone who appreciates their value as artwork. As he says, "I care about them!" None of his family wants (or needs) the collection, since they have so many rugs already due to his penchant for gifting them! He has been collecting since he was 16, growing up in South Dakota. As an adult, he used to drive around to the different reservation towns, stop by the artists' homes, and buy their creations, or he attended auctions.
Please ask any questions. If I cannot answer them, I will ask him and get back to you. I can take more photos if you need me to.
