A very fine Ottoman Bichaq knife with silver niello technique handle and brass scabbard. These knifes were worn by the Ottoman military as sidearm and also by citizens who could afford one. The blade is marked with a makers mark and has a reinforced spine. The silver handle is made of sheets of silver with niello decoration, revited to the tang and put together with strong resin. The typical ear-shaped... handle is also seen on the larger version (Yatagan) with was mostly the primary weapon.
Condition: Good, the dagger is loose in the sheet, but further good considered it's age. The silver has some slight ware on the edges, but is in overall good condition. Please have a look at the photo's.
