This beautifully handmade bag was purchased by the original and only owner from the artist, Dorothy Brave Eagle, at the 2007 Southwest Association for Indian Arts Santa Fe Indian Market. It was collected from the estate of the owner in Taos, New Mexico. The multi-colored porcupine quills depict a Native American couple on a white background. Very intricate bead work flanks both sides of the figures and a row of 10 bells on a felt background runs across the top. The bag is made of deers...kin and has nearly 8" of deerskin fringe. The 7.5" bag handle is beaded with deerskin tabs and ties. This is a very beautiful piece in nearly pristine condition. The bag measures 7.5" x 5.5" with an overall length from the handle to the bottom fringe of 22.5". It comes with a certificate from Dorothy Brave Eagle from SWAIA 2007.
