TEAC R-777X HIGH END 2-HEAD STEREO CASSETTE DECK W/REMOTE, DBX & DOLBY, RARE - needs repair.
I bought this deck new in 1984. I'm selling this as "needs repair, " because it is currently not functioning as it should. I suspect that it just needs routine servicing to operate normally, due to its age. I have not used it for many years. It wants to work. The front panel controls all respond, but the transport grunts and groans then shuts down.... It certainly must need new belts, cleaning and lubing. The slide-out tray works as it should, unless a tape transport button is pressed. At that point, it will not open or close until the machine is powered off and back on again. Then the tray slides in and out again like it should. I have no way to test the audio, but it was working when I stopped using it, so I can't imagine why it wouldn't now. I just can't guarantee it, of course.
Cosmetically, it's in good shape. All of the lights work, and all of the functions appear to work. The blank skip feature on these decks is very handy. A listener can skip forward or backward up to 15 songs with the push of a button. I'm including a color brochure. Thanks in advance for your interest in this machine, which will be a rare beauty in someone's collection, once the necessary repairs are made.
