Antique 1887 Painted Black Cat Doorstop Cast Iron Rare, Foundry & Reg Stamped A superb large vintage black cast iron cat seated doorstop. The content cast iron cat is well observed, with a satisfied, aloof expression.Could also be used as a fireplace or fireside accessory decoration. Its flat back could easily be placed against the fireplace wall.The seated black cat has great patina. No one else will have one like this. A highly collectible quality cast iron cat doorstopThe cat is in ...its original condition, painted black. In very good condition, with minor paint flakes, and very minor rust marks.Foundry stamped but indecipherable. Reg Number is hard to read but I believe it’s 72312. There does appear to be an 8 at the start but it is not in alignment or the same size as the other numbers, I think it is detail from the other side. I have done Size approximately:Height 34cm (13.5”)Width 18cm (7.25”)Depth 10cm (4”)I have given it a quick wipe over, but as with all my items I don't over clean or polish, as this can ruin a patina.
