The costume is a wonderful example of the local fashion from the middle of the 20th century. The costume is complete and includes five parts: blouse, skirt, apron, vest, and cap. The finely pleated skirt closes in the front with snap buttons and the front gets covered by the apron. The costume features beautiful woven and embroidered designs on all of the pieces and is full of color - a great kroj for spring festivals! The vest is made from pink brocade fabric and decorated with trim, beads and sequins. The skirt is beautifully pleated and decorated with several rows of trim and lace. The blouse is quite full and will accomodate a range of sizes - please go by the size of the vest if you are concerned about the pieces fitting as the vest is more restrictive. Once a vest becomes too tight, Helpa women will often add extra loops in the front to allow for a roomier fit. The bonnet is embroidered with traditional geometric motifs and floral designs. There is some light wear and signs of use, but overall the costume is in very good condition and ready to wear or display! A lovely ensemble and a beautiful, wearable addition to your collection.
A note regarding condition: All of the costumes and textiles that I sell are vintage and have typically seen decades of use resulting in expected wear and tear that add to the history and authenticity of each piece. In case of above average wear, I try to list any significant damages and heavy signs of use in the above description. Depending on the age, materials, and condition, I will often hand-wash more durable, colorfast cotton and linen elements, but embellished garments, heavier wool pieces or items made from silk or fine fabrics are sold in the original, unwashed condition. Small holes or stains, missing sequins/beads, worn trim, and other marks related to standard wear are common and do not detract from the value of most pieces. Please keep in mind that a vintage textile or garment in very good condition might still show signs of use, storage and age. Unless otherwise noted, all of the items listed for sale are in very good, stable condition and are suitable for use, wear or display.
