This listing is for the old 2 piece metal footed bowl that you see in the photos. I purchased it at an estate sale where I was not told its history. There were a number of interesting old items at the sale. To me, it looks old enough to be considered vintage and very possibly antique. I would guess early 20th century if not earlier. There are shapes in the design that look like Hebrew letters to me. I wonder if it had or has any ceremonial use. I leave it to the buyer to decide h...ow old it is, where it was made and whether or not there are Hebrew letters on the sides. It measures close to 6 ½ inches from edge to edge across the top of the removable copper bowl. It measures about 2 1/8 inches high. It weighs close to 6.4 ounces. The removable copper bowl looks to me like it was hand hammered. The sides of the holder for the bowl look to me like they are probably silver plated. I do not know what kind of metal the silver plate is on. When l look with a magnifying glass at the small and scattered areas that are not silver, it looks like something might have been used to darken the metal or maybe I am looking at very old tarnish. Where the metal is not darkened or silver, the metal looks like it might be some kind of odd yellow brass that looks a bit like gold to me. Curiously, the bottom of the holder for the copper bowl strongly attracts a magnet. That tells me that it is very likely iron or an iron alloy like steel. The feet and the rest of the holder and bowl do not attract a magnet. There are plenty of photos. I leave it to the buyer to decide what kind of metals were used to make it. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. It is generally in very good to excellent condition. There are a few minor dents along the rim of the copper bowl. There is a greenish white coloration in the many small depressions in the copper bowl that I think is probably verdigris. There is tarnish. I see some whitish substance on the sides of the holder that is mostly near the bottom edge that under magnification look to me like oxidation or verdigris. It does not look like silver polish to me but I suppose that it might be. Otherwise, this bowl is generally fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition. I guarantee this bowl to be as described and represented by the 26 photos after the general description. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs “close to” because in my opinion no measurements are exact.
