Description:Fucinus gallagheri - Rare LEFT-HANDED Spindle SPECIMEN SHELL FROM OmanThe Sultan of Oman bans the export of shells from hiscountry. Dr. Donald Bosch had a specialrelationship with the Sultan and was allowed to export Oman shells to worldwidecollectors. Many of those shells were virtually unknown to the Western worldbefore the Bosch family brought them out of Oman. This is one of those shells.With the passing of the Donald the chance of new specimens making it into the...international market is slim. Specimens are increasingly difficult to obtainand must come out of existing collections. No reports of new specimens havebeen recorded being found in recent years by people living within Oman furtherreducing the chance of adding an example to one’s collection. Fucinus gallagheri is anendemic specimen from such a collection. The size is 1.6 cm. and it is a Rare left-handed shell in the Whelk family.
