Antique Gettysburg Katalysine Mineral Water Bottle.This is a very rare and hard to find bottle.Circa 1880's.The bottle is a deep emerald green.The Katalysine mineral water is from a spring 1 mile west of Gettysburg, PA.The water was thought to have curative properties as far back as the Civil War where injured soldiers swore by its healing effect.The water was bottled for decades because of its curative reputation.Embossed on the bottle " GETTYSBURG KATALYSINE WAT...ER".There is no indication of who was the bottling company.The bottle is 9 1/2" tall and 4" in diameter.The bottle is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
The Spring from which the medicinal fluid known as the Gettysburg Water is taken, is situated in a miniature valley on the McClean farm, about one mile west of the town of Gettysburg, Adams county, Pennsylvania.
