These Western Electric plastics are the original red, not painted or altered in any way. They have no chips or cracks and show only normal age-appropriate wear.
This TouchTone model lights up with a Western Electric transformer. One position ...of the switch turns on the nightlight, which glows very dim all the time and goes to full bright when the handset is lifted. The other position of the switch turns off the nightlight, but it still goes to full bright when the handset is lifted.
Every function of this telephone is up to factory specs, with excellent voice and hearing transmission. And you will enjoy the honest-to-goodness mechanical bell that rings on incoming calls. It's rubberized cork pad will protect your furniture while keeping the phone in place.
