However I found that it is always associated with the words Filigrane Depose (not found on this pie...ce). Filigrane means watermark or hallmark, and Depose means "registered maker" (like copyright). I found a couple of antique dealers who referred to the hallmark as signifying .925 sterling silver, but the majority of references indicated silver plate, so that's how I'm selling this piece.
