EXCEPTIONAL 1895 Antique 22k Gold Wedding Band by T.B. Starr. A ring with a story to tell. This stunning 22k Gold, 4.6g, wedding band was engraved by one of the masters of the day, Mr. Theodore B. Starr, a celebrated merchant of fine jewels and silverware who was called "one of the leading jewelers in the city" in his 1907 New York Times obituary. While a standout in his own right, before founding his own company, he partnered with Herman Marcus, a renowned designer for Tiffany and Co.... and later founder of Marcus and Co. This band is engraved with the names of the betrothed and the date of Nov. 20, 1895. While the names are very difficult to make out, even with a loupe and a skilled eye, the date is clear, as is Mr. Starr's hallmark and 22k stamp on the inside of the band. Size 7.5.
