I am helping to liquidate my fathers extensive collection of artifacts. Please see the pics for details. If you have any questions, or think I can enhance or correct a description, I'd really like to hear from you.
All my fathers notes say about this 3 inch lance point is "Nebo Hills point attained in spring of 1964". Uncharacteristically his notes do not indicate from whom it was attained, whether or not it was donated or purchased, or any origin kinds of information. Too bad. Alth...ough knapped a little thick it is a pretty nice example of a Nebo Hills type artifact originating from Missouri mostly. It's made from a semi vitreous, off white chert/flint, speckled with some dark mineral. As many trips to the "Show Me" state as we took over the years, I'm going to say there's a 90% chance that he got this point from an acquaintance that he had made on one of these trips. Nebo Hills points are associated with Late Archaic cultural period, about 3500 BP.
