You are looking at a vintage 1950s-1960s hand screened, 6" x 6" x 1/4" tile by Berggren-Trayner Corp. of Libertyville, Illinois. Screen signed on the front Berggren. The back side of the tile has the English translation of the Swedish saying on the front.
This tile has been decorated in the whimsical tradition of old Swedish folk paintings known as "Dalmalningar." The pattern and colors are faithfully reproduced by hand screening.
