Miniature Framed Antique Chinese Embroidery of Chicken
Being offered for your consideration is a Miniature framed under glass piece of antique Chinese Embroidery with a Chicken walking among flowers. This small piece of embroidery was probably cut from a larger piece of embroidery that may of had some issues that could not be restored, therefore cut to salvage and save pieces that were still in good shape. The embroidery thread appears to have a shiny look, so it may be silk, but pl...ease decide this for yourself as we are not textile experts. The silver painted wood frame itself indicates a late 20th Century production with a beveled matte board of a light sage green color. It has a gold attached label on the backside of the framer in San Francisco, CA.
A really cute piece for that right place, maybe among other small framed artwork you already possess!

Measurements: The Frame measures approximately 4-3/4 inches in height x 5-3/4 inches wide. The image size measures 2 inches x 2-1/2 inches. It weighs approximately 4.2 oz. All measurements are approximate, but close.
Condition: We carefully examined this piece. The embroidery appears to be in very good shape. No Tears, Stains, Thread Pulls, etc. The frame and glass are in good shape as well, but the frame has several bumps and dents along the edges (see last enlarged photo). These dents are not that bad and could probably be touched up if desired. There are a couple of moisture stains noted on the paper backing of the frame. None of it seems to appear on the matte board or embroidery on the front side. Please take the time to carefully examine all the photographs for more details.
