Vintage Antique Black Americana pop-up figure boxThe box is wood and the decoration on the sides looks like a veneer or inlay. The top and inside top roll away and are painted. The top picture has darkened and worn but looks like a cabin with a mountain in the background. The inside top painting is flowers or some kind of plant.The top lid rolls back to reveal the black figure and another roll top lid. It looks like part of a spring mechanism is in with the figu...re but is not working. there is also a tab at the foot of the figure that you can press and the figure pops up. The second lid rolls back and there is a wooden piece that slides up and down. I have no idea what this was made for or what the purpose is. Extremely unusual piece!Paint shows wear on top lid, box shows some wear, mechanism not working. See pictures for better idea of condition.
