*** ************************** ****Up for sale here is the much rarer slug plated version, of this western hutch soda bottle from Los Angeles, California. This example is sparkling clean, with barely any wear. There is some slight wear on the upper shoulder area, to when it rattled in the old wooden case long ago. This is non detracting. The icy aqua colored glass has no chips,... pings or dings. Never been tumbled. It has the original hutchinson wire stopper intact, with the black rubber gasket.*It boldly reads within a circular slug plate ~ "LOS ANGELES / (star motif) / SODA WORKS". There is also a star on the base. On the lower reverse heel it reads ~ "D.O.C. 78". Bottle was made in Pittsburgh, Pa. This version is very difficult to find, and would date into the 1890's era. This shorter hutch measures 6 3/8 inches tall, and 2 3/8 inches in diameter. You will be quite pleased with this example from the west, and southern California.
