This is a WICKEDLY wonderful opportunity to add an authentic, early wooden ratchet noisemakerto your collection. This piece is in excellent, NEAR MINT, all-original condition and it WORKS!
Made in Germany during what many consider to be the Golden Age of Hallowe'en –the 1920s and the 1930s – this ratchet retains its original Jack o’ Lanterncomposition head and his original black crepe paper collar.
This piece is NOT a reproduction! It is an authentic early German wooden noisemaker with all of its original parts.Jack has charming and lovable hand-painted features and wears a jaunty red mushroom cap. Heis a veggie man, after all! The only condition issue to report is a light, tight crack along one sideline his body that I am sure is original to the piece and was done in the making.
Noisemakers such as this one were used as party favors, decorations for thetable and game prizes at those great old parties back in the day. This noisemaker works as it should, making one heck of loud racket – so handywhen trying to scare the spooks away!
