BOLD VINTAGE SOLID 14K GOLD and FIRE OPAL RING & PENDANT NECKLACE SET, 24.2 Grams, EXCELLENT CONDITION! JEWELER'S MARK! Includes the 4.1 gram 14K Gold Chain!Each of the pieces of this set are enhanced with a pale Mexican Fire Opal cabochon. Although the items in the set have different manufacturers, they're being offered as a set because of the matching color of their gemstones. Their total weight is 24.2 grams. These items are not sold separately. Very unique set.The ring is enhan...ced with a pear shaped Mexican fire opal cabochon in a unique prong setting. The opal measures (WxLxD) 15x18x9mm @ 13.12 carats (approximate). It's stamped "14K" on the inside of the shank as shown in the 9th exhibit and was tested and verified as 14 karat gold. The ring has a size of 6 (US) or a width of 16.5mm and weighs 7.6 grams. There appears to be some minor pits and scratches on the surface of the cabochon and a small chip at the base, possibly a result of the lapidary work. The gold ring was polished by a professional jeweler. Overall it's in very good condition.The pendant necklace consists of a curb chain 20 & 1/2 inches long, 1/16 of an inch (0.07") or 1.8mm wide, weighs 4.1 grams without the pendent and is secured with a "spring-ring" clasp. A jeweler's mark "SYLKAY 14K" appears at the end opposite the clasp as shown in the 11th exhibit. The pendant consists of an oval shaped cabochon that measures (WxLxD) 24x28x14.2mm @ 51.53 carats (approximate) in a bezel setting that drops 1 & 3/8 inches from its bale and weighs 12.5 grams. Because the bale and bezel weren't stamped for its purity it was tested and found to be 14 karat gold. It's in excellent condition.Opals are softer than most gemstones and are about 5.5 to 6.5 on the hardness scale of 1-to-10.
