Up for auction is a speedometer from the early 1900's made by Standard Thermometer Company of Boston, Mass. This speedometer has been tested by rotating where the drive cable connects. The needle did not move but the odometer advanced. It is made primarily of brass and retains some early black paint with some chips and wear throughout. When pressed and turned, the button on the side of the speedometer moves the numbers on top in the black section of the dial to t...he left and the right depending on which direction it is turned. The glass is in great shape as well as the bevel which only has one imperfection that is extremely small. We tried to capture it on camera. (See Photos) When you run a finger around the bevel, it can be felt below the end of the word "thermometer". Please see the photos for more on condition. It is being sold as shown for restoration in the condition shown.
