All our watches are offered for sale in full working order.The Omega Watch Company is the culmination of a watchmaking house founded by Louis Brandt in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1848. However, it was not until 1898 that their watches bore the Omega name. Their watches have, over the years, become highly collectable timepieces.We are offering for sale this exquisite ladies... Omega 'Staybrite' rectangular Art Deco inspired wristwatch. (Staybrite is the early name for stainless steel). This highly collectible timepiece dates from 1939 and, following a service, is running well and keeping good time. It has rare design for a ladies watch of this era; plain cased with a narrow ridged polished bezel and corresponding sides, slim curved teardrop lugs and large dial window displaying a beautiful period dial. Fully detailed and ready towear it will look outstanding on the wrist. CASE: The polished rectangular 'Acier Staybrite' double watch case, is in super overall order. The double case gives added protection to the movement. The back is signed and monogrammed Omega 'fab suisse' Swiss made. It carries the serial number 9790781. The watch measures 32mm lug to lug by 17mm across excluding the plain winding crown. DIAL: The watch has its original, Omega signed and monogrammed silver dial which is lightly aged. The hours are denoted by neat applied black Arabic numerals and slim baton indexes. There is an outer minute dial. The original 'flame' purple steel hands are also in excellent order. GLASS: The glass remains clean and clear. MOVEMENT: Beautiful, 17 jewelled, Omega Swiss signed movement which displays the serial number 9333275, dating the piece precisely to 1939. This has been recently serviced and is keeping good time. STRAP: Fitted with a new black leather strap with anti-allergy buckle. This is an true example of a rare, fine timepiece from a bygone age the like of which are proving more difficult to find. 'Good' timekeeping for these pieces is within +/- 2 minutes a day.
