Offered here is a stunning prepared Cornites proprius from the Waldron Shale Formation from Blue Springs Quarry (filled with water) in Waldron, Indiana, Silurian in age. The worm tube measures 2 3/4” long and sits on a matrix piece that measures 7” x 4 1/2”. This beautiful specimen took 5 hours to prepare using a microscope and air abrasive unit. There is a beautiful dabbling if pyrite crystals on the specimen. The tip of the Cornulites is attached to a Eucalyptocrinites crassus... crinoid. Also on the slab are brachiopods, coral, and bryozoan. This was found about 15 years ago during the time we had a lease on part of the old Blue Springs Quarry outside Waldron, Indiana. The quarry is full of water and is in a legal battle. No collecting allowed. If you have purchased multiple items, please do not send payment until I send an invoice.
