Vintage hard to find Singer Trim-Clip Simanco 161585
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Archive pictures are used to demonstrate and illustrate the features of the Singer Trim-ClipThe Singer Trim-Clip alleviates two cumbersome tasks. It conveniently cuts the threads after sewing a seam.
And it holds the loose threads up and out of the way when starting a seam.
If you are a prolific seamster, patch worker or are just tired of snipping and holding ...the threads to avoid a thread jam, you know this little Singer Treasure makes a huge difference to the joy of machine sewing. ~~~Note: before beginning a seam using a vintage Singer Sewing Machine, the loose threads (or tails) must be held back for the first two stitches. Otherwise, the thread ends can be pulled down into the hook assembly and cause a thread jam. These jams are no fun!~~~Attach your vintage Singer Trim-Clip over your standard Singer sewing machine presser foot. It will fit and operate on a straight or a slant needle Singer Sewing Machine (such as the Singer Featherweight 221 or the Singer 301 pictured below).

End a seam and pull the threads back, up and over the Trim Clip towards you to be neatly cut by the little blade (green arrows) and held securely in place by the spring.
