Fine antique Franciscan Order religious cross, from the end of 19THc, made of red copper, ornate: with the church " Portioncula ", the place from where the Franciscan Order stated, inscription in border in latin for "The Portioncula, Mother and Head of the Minor Brothers ", angel's faces, the Minor order heraldry on the top and St Francis of Assisi at the bottom of the cross on the obverse.
On the reverse side, there is the blessing of St Francis in fr...ench for: "May the Lord bless you and protect you!
The Lord looks at you kindly and favorably welcomes you! "
The Lord to manifest his benevolence you and grant you peace! ", Transcript of blessing in Latin autograph of Francis (from Numbers 6.24-26) for his companion, Brother Leo. The cross T (the Hebrew or Greek tau) sign of the elect according to Ezekiel, was the usual signature of Francis. He added: "May the Lord bless you, Brother Leo!"
