Original Description:
This is an original complete deck of mid-1800s US made playing cards. They are from the 1860s-1870s. They are wider than cards today and have no numbers or indices in the corners. They were printed in New York by Andrew Dougherty.The condition is good. Some cards have tears or missing corners, but most are very nice. Some of the card backs and fronts are more worn than others. My guess is that the deck was extremely dirty and someone cleaned the cards which wore off some of the back de...signs. You can see the difference in backs in the second to last picture. Also, the two of hearts was replaced sometime long ago. The owner drew the two hearts on an original card, so this must have been done a long time ago, because the back design is exactly the same. See pictures for best description of condition.It’s extremely difficult to find authentic gambling US made playing cards from this time period! Complete US decks like this one are several times rarer because most decks have been broken up or had cards lost.Don’t miss!!!
