Hello, I have for sale a piece of Authentic Japanese silk kimono fabricThis fabric is a beautifully soft and supple Medium/Light weight rinsu silk in Blue and White. Woven into the silk is a flower diamond pattern. Dyed on top of the silk are Beautiful Cherry Blossom and Bamboo Leaf. The silk has silver dye added like stars on the blue sections. Its dimensions are 60 inches Long by 13.75 inches Wide (152cm x 34.5cm.) This Silk has come from a kimono dating from the 1930-40s. ...Despite the silks great age the fibres are still very strong and the colour is still brilliant and still usable in many craft projects. As a consequence of the kimono being unpicked there are tiny stitch hole in the margins.
This Silk could be made into Scarves, Purses, Table runners, Cushions or Tops made from several panels for example. Or Great for a quilting project.
This fabric is in Excellent vintage condition. There is some light patina and light marks.As all my fabrics are Vintage, Each piece is unique and one off.
