very nice restored 100% original Alachua County, Florida license plate. 1916 issue; number 456. black legend on white background. the plate is completely straight and flat and has been restored to a lovely patina finish. Florida only began state-issued plates in 1918; before that they had a rich variety of county and city issued plates, such as this one.
a handful of Alachua 1916 plates were found in a dump a few years back; most look like somethi...ng the cat dragged in but this one has had the missing edges and corners professionally welded in to yield a complete plate. an extremely elegant example for you to bring home and add to your collection.
