A super cool original Modernist Australian Pottery Ellis pattern no.12 Table Lamp.Designed in 1958 and made by Miloslav and Dagmar Kratochvil for Ellis Pottery. This is a known pattern and is undeniably Ellis. This beautifully sculptural Abstracted pottery lamp base in a satin white glaze has been attached to a wooden stand painted white which does provide reassuring stability. Underside we read Sheila Ray 106/180 and I confess I'm not sure if this relates to the adaptation of the Ell...is lamp to its wooden base? The lamp retains its original electrical fittings, lead and plug, all Aussie standards so ready to plug in and enjoy (Simply needs a suitable shade of your choice) The plastic light screw on collar fitting has a small chip to the edge so the globe sits slightly askew. A new plastic screw on ring (costs 50 cents from hardware and is a standard size) would fix up the wobbly globe. Sits and stays on ok however if not interfered with. Some rubbing wear to the wooden base and an overall surface crazing to the white glaze however no chipping or cracks. The lamp including the fitting (but not the globe) stands approx 47cm.
