Here is a classic, well-proportioned early 1920s RCA Horn Speaker, model UZ-1325, with a pebbled-finish hard rubber horn. It’s in good working condition and sounds very good. You can drive it with your early RCA Radiola radio, or others like an Atwater Kent breadboard or Crosley, Grebe, Federal, Kennedy, and any number of other battery sets from the 1920’s. This unit has a lever-type tone control, which allows the user to adjust the... tension on the driver’s diaphragm for best volume and quality. You can also play music from your phone or other digital source through it by connecting it to a suitable Bluetooth adapter, readily available elsewhere, for a unique vintage sound. Why buy a new unit, such as the item currently marketed as “Gramophone” when you can get the real thing?Since it is almost 100 years old, it shows its age in a few places. The horn has some textural differences in the surface of the hard rubber, and a few scuffs, but importantly, no cracks. The driver housing is in nice overall cosmetic condition, but is missing the bottom cover. The vintage cloth-covered wiring is missing its metal end pins, which can make contact intermittent during use, so it would be wise toe replace it eventually. It’s 25” tall and the mouth of the horn is 12” in diameter. Please review the pictures carefully, as they are a better description of its condition then I can put into words. Note that the auction is for the speaker only, and that the radio and meter you see are for illustrative purposes only and not included. The speaker will disassembled and the horn and driver will each be packed securely in a box, with both then packed within a larger box.Since it’s used and about 100 years old, it’s sold as-is with no returns. It ships to US destinations, as well as international locations via EBay’s global shipping services.
