Took part in the expeditions/campaigns of Trenton, Trenton Bridge, Pollocksville, Goldsburg, Kinston, New Berne, Washington, Weldon Beech Creek, Wise's Creek, Raleigh and Greensboro, North Carolina. The 17th Regiment lost a total of 172 officers and men during the war.
