I have been selling amber fossils for over 10 years on eBay and do not sell fake amber only genuine material from now extinct plant sources not glass or plastic embedded with present day inclusions.Dominican amber is known for the clarity as well as variety of its inclusions. Such things as insects, arachnids, and botanicals can be found.This is fully polished, gem quality amber fossil from the mines in the Dominican Republic that contains a ...rare Hemipteran or true bug with a long, piercing proboscis that would have been capable of spreading disease. This type of insect is rarely found in Dominican amber.Please mouse over images to see the pictures better.This piece originated from the Dominican Republic. The piece itself weighs 2.6 grams and has approximate dimensions of 2.5 cm length, 1.6 cm width, and 0.8 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch. However, many amber sources or even specimens will not float in saltwater as their botanical (plant) composition as well as fossil inclusions are such that they are more dense than saltwater and so sink. I do not sell fake amber. My feedback should help demonstrate this.
