Charming antique marble and bronze plaque dedicated to Joan of Arc. Found in a French flea market many years ago, it is 2 1/3" x 3 1/3". The base is a pale green marble; in the center is a round bronze profile of Joan, with the words JEANNE D'ARC 1412-1437. At the right side is a sprig of roses, behind which is a circular holder -- for a taper, incense (or pen?). A brass chain is held by two doves. It's in good condition, although the marble has a few small scuffs at the bottom (see ph...oto). The back is brass. I think it's from the 1920s.
