Original Description:
Up for sale is a nice phenakite specimen on quartz and feldspar from the Lantern Pocket (13, 700 ft. elev.), Mt. Antero, Chaffee County, Colorado! The specimen is in good overall shape, though the phenakite does have some internal fracturing. The specimen weighs 4.5 pounds and measures approximately 5 3/4" x 5" x 4 1/2". The phenakite crystal measures 2.1 centimeters in diameter at its widest. Pictures were taken dry indoors (ruler for scale).
Please note that phenakite is very colo...r-sensitive when exposed to sunlight! Any amber color will fade to clear with UV exposure (via sunlight or even prolonged exposure to halogen lights).
