Here offered is something never seen: gold bearing chalcopyrite and silver bearing sphalerite!! from the Union Copper Mine of the Gold Hill Mines of central North Carolina.  Very nice slab of copper, gold and silver bearing sulfides from this historic and famous locality.  This piece came from the south end of the Gold Hill fault where there is an offset fault from the south that carried a lot of silver!  The vein carried much more silver than gold and such mines as the ...Troutman and McMakin mines tapped the lode!!
