Up forbid is an excellent specimen of the edrioasteroid Belochthuscf. orthocolus from the Verulam Formation, Trenton Group, Upper Ordovician of Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. The diameter ofthis edrioasteroid is 5 mm on a hardground limestone matrix of 5 x 5x 2.5 cm. 100% natural, no restoration or repair whatsoever.
Theedrioasteroids from this new locality are extremely difficult toidentify. I have found what I think are Isorophusella incondita, Cryptogoleus chapmani and multibr...achiatus, Belochthus cf.orthokolus, and a new form resembling the genus Cystaster.Because of their small size and differences in ontogenetic stages, itmakes it even more difficult to speciate them. If anyone can helpwith the identity of these edrios, please contact me.
