Original Description:
These are a nice set of civil war era cutlery . Each knife is marked Meriden Cutlery Co. It incorporated into Meriden Cutlery Co in 1855 . I believe they are pewter end caps, bolsters & double pins . Handles appear to be made of wood with tang running full length of handle . The condition is good there are some marks on the knives that probably could be polished off . The knives measure 8 3/4" in length and the forks are 7" in length . I buy most of my pieces at auctions, flea... markets & yard sales so I don't know the history of the item.  I am not an antique dealer or expert.  I describe the item along with any flaws and markings I can find the best I can .
