Sinclair ZX - 81 ZX81 Timex - Sinclair Timex TS1000 Computer W/ 16K RAM And Printer

A working Sinclair ZX81 (a.k.a. Timex-Sinclair 1000) computer made in England, complete with 1016 16K RAM expansion pack and 2040 printer.
The computer has RF output only so a VCR was used to test it: the RF output (from the coaxial cable) was run directly to the VCR's antenna terminal (via an RCA-to-F59 adapter) which then outputs composite video to a monitor. When powered-on, an inverse video "K" prompt appears, programs can then be entered. The printer work...s, printing program listings when the "LLIST" command is executed and within a program when the "LPRINT" command is used. The 16K RAM pack seems to work (there is the expected delay between power-up and the prompt appearing) and shows the usual problems these things had from the factory: namely that the cartridge would wiggle and crash the machine - be sure to put everything on a flat table when operating it. A simple machine code program was run through BASIC (see the photos) to check the memory which showed "8K" ... it might well be _my_ lack of memory though in how to write such programs since the pack uses 4116 16K DRAM chips. At least that program allowed the testing of the keyboard. The cassette storage system was untested.
Also included are several books and cassettes (many cassettes unopened) including the operation manual, BASIC programming manual, a machine-code programming manual, etc.
Included are three additional pieces for parts only (labelled as such on a photo): a spare TS1000 which was 'hacked' (it has several added wires for what was likely an external keyboard as well as composite video output), an additional main PC board, and the boards from a RAM pack (as well as a spare 9V adapter). None of these were tested as they are incomplete or 'hacked' but they might be useful for spare parts.
Working as tested, but due to age it is sold "as is".
