DESCRIPTION / CONDITION (#22):This week I'm listing 6 briar smoking pipes of Italian origin. These pipes are all from one estate which I purchased over 20 years ago. This is the first time they have been available for purchase.
This auction is for a fantastic Castello Sea Rock Briar SC-54 estate pipe made in Cantu Italy. This is the nicest pipe in this group of pipes. Shell and stem are in very nice gently used condition. Bit retains all its dark blackness with inset jewel. Bowl ret...ains its shape at the shoulders with a light crust inside the bowl.
Nice dark, rusticated/blasted briar wood. Bit has vey very minor chatter (no tooth divots). The pipe is well marked on stem and bit. This pipe would make a great everyday smoker or for your collection. I don't attempt to clean, polish or repair smoking pipes so each is "as found" and may still have a bit of residue in the bowl & bit. I recommend a nice cleanup prior to smoking.
