Amiga 500 PAK68 circuit board and riser, CPU/RAM expander project (incomplete). Shipped with USPS First Class Mail.
This is an interesting bit of kit, I found this among a bunch of other old Commodore and Amiga hardware formerly belonging to an enthusiast who did a lot of custom upgrades. Note that what you see is what you get, this is an INCOMPLETE upgrade board that is missing the Processor and FPU as well as a socketed crystal. It appears to be populated with RAM chips... and a riser to give added clearance from the Amiga motherboard, in addition to what looks like a 40-pin header?
This may also be compatible with the Amiga 2000 and Atari ST, but again, it's what you see and the documentation on this is rather sparse as it was originally a project kit that originated with a German computer enthusiast magazine back in the late 80-early 90's.
As far as I can tell, you would need 3 additional parts to make this work according to the original project photos (these are NOT included):
a Motorola MC68881RC12Aa Motorola MC68020RC12B
a Quartek Qx0-710 (12.0000 mhz) crystal
I found a reference to this product on the "Big Book of Amiga Hardware" website which I cut and pasted the text of below. That page had a link to a high resolution photo from which I derived the part numbers above. I do not have the parts to complete this project for testing, so it's sold as-is / parts only.
Processor:68020@12MhzFPU:68881@12Mhz (PGA)MMU:NoneMax Ram:None without optional FRAK/2Ram Type:Does not support the addition of RAM without the FRAK/2The PAK-68 was a project design by the German computer magazine called C'T. It was effectively a build-your-own accelerator project. The accelerator is designed to plug into the CPU socket and although it was originally intended for use with the Atari ST and MegaST is reported to be compatible with the Amiga such as the A500 and A2000.
