Below find a little story on this designer. She was one of the top designers for Tiffany and Co. in the 70's into the early 80's.
She is small and soft-spoken, and tough is about the last word that would be used to describe her, but Angela Cumm...ings, one of the foremost jewelry designers in the country, agrees that her appearance is deceptive.''People always think that I'm quiet and shy and delicate, '' she said, looking quiet and shy and delicate, ''which is fine because when I'm ready to ambush, everyone is very surprised. Beginning early next year, her designs will be sold exclusively in New York through Bergdorf Goodman, she said, adding that the store had promised her 500 square feet on the main floor.Anthony De Witt Ostrom, Tiffany's president, said Mrs. Cummings ''has decided to pursue her career as an independent designer.'' However, he added, ''We have had discussions with her about continuing a collection for Tiffany, but nothing has been decided.'' Mrs. Cummings confirmed that such discussions had occurred but said that any such agreement would have to be compatible with the one she has with Bergdorf's.45, 000 Sales in '82Mrs. Cummings's designs accounted for more than 45, 000 sales last year at Tiffany's in New York and at its branches, and a total volume of about $10 million. For this year, the figure is expected to be $12 million. Her collection ranges in price from $35 to $1 million but the average sale is between $1, 000 and $10, 000.Continue reading the main story
