For sale is an antique MIDLAND JUMP SPARK CIGAR LIGHTER
Model L
S/N = 125829
Made by the Davenport Mfg Co. Davenport, Iowa
Patent dates (on the front plaque) July 20, 1909 / Dec 06, 1910 / Jan 20, 1920
This uses an aftermarket 6 volt battery -not included
Wood case appears original? and not refinished? - original paper label on the bottom is worn
The Wood case does have some scratches in the front there is some deep ones there is a screw missing on the top meta...l piece and the handle is missing
Lighter appears to have the original coil - i did connect a battery and did get a spark
Lighter appears to have original patina and does not look like it was refinished - there is wear and minor pitting on the chrome (see pictures for details) - the wick and lighter fluid tank are unknown if original - there is zero lighter fluid in this lighter - I assume that adding lighter fluid to the tank would light the wick - this has NOT been tested - only the spark has been tested and care MUST be taken when adding lighter fluid - I will not be responsible for what happens after adding lighter fluid - this is NOT a kids toy and must be respected just like any other fluid based lighterplease see pictures any questions please ask
