Antique Brass Victorian Organ Grinder Monkey Head w/ Hat Match Safe Vesta circa 1890’s. This is a genuine antique bronze or brass figural Match Safe . It is from the late 1800’s and was highly collectible even back in those days ! This Monkey Head Match Vesta extremely well made and very detailed ! The craftsmanship is exceptional- this would’ve been like the iPad or iPhone of the day ! People sought these fancy match safes to store their wooden matches ! The hat opens up on top ...of the monkeys head to reveal a nice sized compartment ! The lid opens and closes tightly ! There is also a small loop attached to the back of the monkeys neck so that it may be attached to a chatelaine or keyring for safe keeping !
