The Stanwell Brass Band is an older model with beautiful details including a double brass bands bookending a Cumberland spacer and brass inlaid logo atop bit. The 56 Canadian shape is a classic! This old briar is about 6” long, bowl is 1 3/4” tall, 1 5/16” wide. ID 3/4”, depth 1 9/16”. Marked atop shank STANWELL/ MADE IN DENMARK/ Brass Band (script), beneath shank 56. A brass capital S below a crown is stamped atop bit. No other marks detected.
Bit is well-seated push fit..., no filter, cleaned and polished, showing a couple light tooth impressions. Stummel has the spacers mentioned above, body color rich reddish tobacco colored, mostly flame grain, some dings and scratches, slightly scorched rim, lightly caked bowl. Superb pipe craftsmanship!
