1929 RCA Theremin AR-1264. Known as the world's first electronic music instrument, the RCA Theremin is a rare collectible instrument found in many museums and seldom comes up for sale. The electronic chassis, coils, and tubes appear to be original and are functioning. This theremin was modified many years ago by removing its legs and adding a custom made speaker cabinet on wheels. It was repainted but has since been stripped back to its original mahogany cabinet. It has its... original antennas and original doors numbered 440. It's serial number is 100088 and is registered on the website www.rcatheremin.com who also offer restoration services and replica legs. This piece would be a worthwhile restoration investment for the right collector. Considering it is a fragile electronic artifact I would prefer it to be picked up localy at my shop in Knoxville. To safely ship, it will need to be fully disassembled and incur additional cost to be agreed upon and buyer would be fully responsible for insurance and reassembly.
